UPDATE: Work at Interstate 10 and State Route 90 in Benson continues late this week and early next week

UPDATE: Work at Interstate 10 and State Route 90 in Benson continues late this week and early next week
Additional lane closure added on eastbound I-10 overnight Sunday
 
Motorists traveling on Interstate 10 near the interchange with State Route 90 will encounter travel restrictions later this week and early next week as the Arizona Department of Transportation continues work on the newly constructed overpass in Benson.
 
The following are restrictions are scheduled:
 
  • The right lane of westbound I-10 will be closed from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 for one mile starting a half-mile east of SR 90 to allow crews to repair a barrier wall.
  • (NEW) The right lane of eastbound I-10 will be closed for paving from 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 until 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24 starting one mile west of the SR 90 interchange (Exit 302) and continuing for nearly one mile east of the overpass.
  • The entrance ramp to eastbound I-10 from SR 90 will be closed for paving at 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 and will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24. During this closure, SR 90 motorists will travel west on I-10 to Mescal Road (Exit 297) where they can exit and return to eastbound I-10.
  • The right lane of eastbound I-10 will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24 until 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 starting a half-mile west of SR 90 to approximately one mile east of SR 90 for paving work.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zones with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
 
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
