Interstate 10 rest areas at San Simon to be closed for 24 hours starting Sunday morning

 

The Interstate 10 rest areas at San Simon in eastern Cochise County will be closed for 24 hours beginning Sunday (April 15) for work related to the maintenance contract.

 

Both the eastbound and westbound rest areas will be closed starting at 8 a.m. Sunday and are scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Monday (April 16).

 

The San Simon rest areas are located approximately three miles west of the New Mexico state line.

 

The nearest I-10 rest area to the west of San Simon is at Texas Canyon, located midway between Willcox and Benson. The closest rest area to the east is near Lordsburg, N.M.
