Construction barrier removal scheduled on Interstate 10 at State Route 90 early Monday   Motorists traveling on Interstate 10 at the junction with State Route 90 in Benson on the morning of Monday, July 23 will encounter lane closures in both directions while Arizona Department of Transportation crews remove temporary barrier walls that have been in place during construction of the new interstate overpass.   The following travel restrictions are scheduled between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. Monday.   The right lane of eastbound I-10 will be closed beginning one-half mile west of the SR 90 interchange (Exit 302).   The left lane of westbound I-10 will be closed beginning one-half mile east of the overpass.   Both closures will cover approximately one mile and approaching motorists will be notified by message boards.   The work is part of ADOT's $27.6 million project to replace the traffic interchange, replace a section of S-curves on I-10 west of SR 90 and make improvements to SR 90 near the interchange. Major work on the project is expected to be completed this fall with the possibility of final paving in spring 2013.   ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel. ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
