Water pressure problems require closure of Interstate 10 rest areas in San Simon near New Mexico State Line The Interstate 10 rest areas at San Simon in eastern Cochise County are closed while Arizona Department of Transportation crews repair the water systems at the facilities. The water pressure problem, which affects the rest areas on both the eastbound and westbound sides of I-10, began Sunday morning and requires closure of the rest areas at least through Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 28). Motorists traveling in that area can use the truck stop off Exit 382 in San Simon as an alternative until the rest areas reopen. The Texas Canyon rest area on westbound I-10 also remains closed for improvements through the rest of this week. The eastbound Texas Canyon rest area is open and alternate facilities also can be found in Willcox and Benson. |
