Crews are expected to finish working at noon Friday, Aug. 31 to accommodate holiday travelers and no travel restrictions will be in effect in the project area over the holiday weekend. The Texas Canyon rest area on westbound I-10, which has been closed for pavement and drainage repairs in the parking lot, is also expected to reopen midday Friday, Aug. 31. The following lane closures are scheduled after Labor Day:
Both closures will be in effect 24-hours per day, including the weekend, to allow crews to work on bridge barriers and guardrails. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel. ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
